‘Severe Head Trauma’ Suffered By Person Hit While Crossing Street In Springfield
A person was seriously hurt after being struck while crossing the street this morning in Springfield.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that around 7am, a sedan driven by a 24-year-old Battle Creek woman had been travelling northeast on Army Ave. near the Brookside Apartments. The vehicle struck a 61-year-old resident who was crossing the street, causing "Severe head trauma".
The victim was taken via ambulance to Bronson Kalamazoo to be treated, with their condition unknown.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that their Accident Reconstruction Team is now investigating this crash, and authorities say that alcohol and speed do not appear to have been involved.
