Single-Vehicle Crash Believed To Be Alcohol Related

A drunk driving suspect was sent to the hospital over the weekend after a car crash in Bedford Township.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Tuesday that the 28-year-old Battle Creek man was found behind the wheel of a pickup truck that had crashed into a tree in Bedford Township around 11:30pm Sunday; the man said he didn’t remember anything before the crash, and was transferred to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

A witness told police that they had seen the man a short time earlier waiting in the right of way; when the witness asked the man why he was there, the man allegedly sped off at high speed.

Investigators believe that the driver had been drinking prior to the crash.
