A suspect in a fatal shooting that took place last week in Battle Creek has now turned himself in to police.

The Battle Creek Police Department says Monday that the 24-year-old Battle Creek man showed up at police HQ with his family and volunteered himself into custody, and he will be charged with felony murder in the death of 22-year-old Kyle Brown.

The suspect will be named once he's arraigned, the BCPD says.

Brown was shot last Wednesday, during what police say was a drug deal gone bad; the suspect had allegedly gone to Brown’s apartment at the Arbor’s of Battle Creek, before stealing Brown’s gun and shooting him with it.

The BCPD wants to thank citizens for tips leading to the discovery of their suspect.
