Battle Creek Police Chief Jim Blocker

A Battle Creek police officer has been ordered to fold his cape and refrain from wearing his Batman mask while on duty.

The suspect is identified as 27-year-old Kamren Brown, who had a long criminal history. The officer's bodycam showed the officer pleading with Brown to drop the weapon as Brown lifted the gun to his head and fired.

Exactly what happened when officers reached the scene is not known, other than at least one officer was involved in a shooting there.

Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate from Battle Creek Michigan who escaped custody on June 4th.

The Battle Creek Police Department released a dashcam video showing multiple angles of the officer involved shooting from last week as well as the names of all involved.

The nine minutes is inexplicable, and so is the lack of response from the officers present. I am disgusted, and these actions at the Battle Creek Police Department would be unacceptable.

The Battle Creek Police Department is one of only 16 law enforcement agencies across the state to achieve full accreditation with the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police.
