Tree Trimming Taking Place in Battle Creek

Trees will be trimmed in several parts of Battle Creek, mainly on the south end of town.

The City announced Wednesday that a contractor for Consumers Energy will be making their way through an area around Capital Avenue Southwest, Riverside Drive and Beckley Road. Other roads affected by the tree trimming include East and West Hamilton, Mason, Rebecca, Christy Road and Drive, Shortbridge, Birchhill, Brookfield and Reyn.

There have been four tree-related power outages since April in that area, compared to just six in the previous two years.

The trimming should be complete by the end of the week.
