Paving work in Battle Creek will close down a street Tuesday.

The City of Battle Creek says that until around 4:30pm Tuesday, weather permitting N. Washington Ave. between Goodale Ave. and Coolidge St. will be closed, and access to Washington from Maryland or Hubert will not be possible.

The work taking place is skim paving, where a thin layer of asphalt is placed to fill potholes and make the road smoother overall. Chip sealing is expected for this stretch of the road later in the summer.

If the work doesn't get finished Tuesday, the City says it should be done Wednesday.
