Some residents on a street in Battle Creek off of Capital Ave. will be without water and face a road closure for a short while.

The City of Battle Creek says that Monday morning, a water main break occurred on Dunham Dr. between Adams Rd. and Mason Rd. They said just before 8:30am Monday that crews were working to repair the damage, but they expected that stretch of road to remain closed until 4pm. Water service would also be cut as the work is done.

With the closure, they say emergency vehicles will not have access.

Residents of the area around Dunham Dr. should expect to be without water, and should be prepared for a potential boil water advisory once service is resumed.

It's not clear what caused the water main to break.
