Woman Killed By Hit-And -Run

A 41 year-old woman was killed while crossing the intersection of Emmett Street and North Avenue, near Bronson-Battle Creek Hospital, around 3:20 PM Thursday afternoon.

The victim was using the crosswalk when she was struck by a truck that failed to stop after hitting her. She was transported to Bronson-Kalamazoo where she later died from her injuries.

A male suspect, thought to be the driver of the truck, was taken into custody at 6:15 PM, Thursday evening.

The incident is still under investigation.
