Woman Killed In Car Crash

Calhoun County Sheriff Deputies responded to a fatal car crash shortly after 9 AM Friday morning.

The two car crash happened on 8 Mile Road near U Drive South, near Union City. A 33 year-old Battle Creek man claimed he was driving southbound on 8 Mile Road when he swerved to miss a small animal. He crossed the center-line, striking a car driven by a 66 year-old Union City woman. She was killed in the crash and he was taken to Bronson-Battle Creek, his condition unknown.

The investigation into the crash continues.
