A late night fire of a vacant Battle Creek home is under investigation.

The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a fully involved vacant structure fire Thursday evening at 8:27 p.m. Four engines, one truck, squad , and command car were dispatched to 105 Frisbie Avenue.

The first crews on the scene, Engine 2 and Rescue 4, assessed the intensity of the blaze. The fire was fully involved and defensive action was decided due to the condition of the home. Attack lines were pulled to protect neighboring homes and structures.

Rescue 3 established water supply. Engine 5 was assigned scene safety and Truck 6 and Squad 6 provided additional staffing.

Both the first floor and upper attic area were damaged. The estimated cost of damage is unknown. There were no reported injuries.

The Fire Marshal was dispatched to the scene for investigation. The cause is unknown at this time.
