You might have to wait a little longer for an on-demand Tele-Transit bus next week in Battle Creek.

The City says that starting Monday, March 11, Battle Creek Transit will have one fewer Tele-Transit van on the road, due to a driver shortage.  The change is temporary for the on-demand public transit service. The van coming out of service typically drives 12:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Tele-Transit service hours remain the same – 5:15 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. A one-way fare is $7, reduced to $5 after 6:45 p.m., and $2 for seniors and those with disabilities (with Transit ID card).  Bus service on the fixed routes throughout the city is not affected.

Battle Creek Transit continues to seek qualified coach operators.  The city has posted the job here, as well as some other opportunities for employment.

To schedule a Tele-Transit ride, or with additional questions, call Transit at 269-966-3474.
