Battle Creek police were called to the McCamly Plaza Hotel located at 50 S.W. Capital Avenue at 1:06 p.m. Monday after a man allegedly approached a clerk at the front desk and told her, "I don't want to hurt anyone, but I have a device. Give me some money.", according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.

Law enforcement say that the desk clerk was able to leave the area and go into a back room where the clerk was able to call 911.

Officers from the Calhoun County Sheriff Department, Battle Creek Police Department as well as state Department of Natural Resources responded to the lobby where the man was located standing at the front desk. The 40 year old was arrested peacefully and never received the requested money.

The alleged suspect was identified as being from Grand Rapids and was wearing a Bronson Battle Creek Hospital armband. The suspect allegedly told officers that he had been a patient at the hospital, seeking treatment for depression.
