A manhunt led to an arrest Friday morning in the Battle Creek area.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that around 7am Friday, February 24, officers responded to the 12,000 block of Sonoma Rd, where a homeowner said that he was holding a home invasion suspect at gunpoint.

As officers were responding, the resident said that shots were fired, and the suspect ended up fleeing the home.

A perimeter around the home was established, and BCPD Officers along with Calhoun County Sheriff's Deputies began K-9 tracks. Around 7:40am, a person was seen matching the suspect description along Beckley Rd. When police attempted contact, the man fled, but he was eventually caught and arrested.

The suspect, a 29-year-old from Paw Paw, did admit to officers that he was shot at, but he wasn't hit. He has been lodged at the Calhoun County Jail, awaiting charges.
