HS Basketball – Moore Sparks Spartans Past Cardinals

The first Tuesday of the High School Boys Basketball season brings a majority of the area teams to the hardwood against their non-conference rivals.

It was that way for three of the five Battle Creek schools including our Game of the Night on WBCK as the Lakeview Spartans hosted the Coldwater Cardinals.

Coldwater has had the upper hand in this series, winning the last five games with all of the match-ups taking place in the first week of the season. The Spartans last win came in January 2014 in overtime on the road, completing a season sweep in Coldwater's last season in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference. The Cardinals have taken every game since joining the Interstate 8.

Battle Creek Central and Pennfield were also in action Tuesday, with Harper Creek's game with St. Joseph was postponed to Wednesday. All the scores from this evening's games can be seen below, along with the recap of our game tonight.
