It was the only game in Battle Creek Monday and it was the debut of two first-time head coaches to begin the 2017-2018 Boys Basketball campaign.

The St. Philip Fighting Tigers began a new era, as former player and assistant Jay Luoma was moved to the lead role over the resignation of Dino English. The Bronson Vikings also brought in a new head coach in Damien Loveless, an Olivet grad that graduated from Grand Valley State in May and gained experience while working as a graduate assistant.

With several veterans returning, the Tigers had an opportunity to begin the season with a victory. They were also looking to end a two-game skid against the Vikings, dating back to St. Philip's last win over Bronson in the 2014-2015 season.

Check out the recap below and get ready for a busy schedule set for Tuesday!
