No One Hurt in Fire at Battle Creek Warehouse

Battle Creek firefighters were called to help battle a blaze at a warehouse on the City’s east side.

The call came around 12:30pm Monday afternoon to the first block of Fourth Street from an employee on the property. Smoke was seen coming from the building, identified as Building 17, by the first responding firefighters from the Battle Creek Fire Department.

The fire was located inside an office in the building and was contained there. The building sustained smoke damage throughout. Authorities learned that the building was not being used at the time.

Emmett Township Public Safety and Springfield Fire departments covered for the two Battle Creek stations on the call.

The cause of the fire is still being determined. An estimated cost of damage is also being determined
