Tuesday, November 7 is Election Day here in Calhoun County.

Besides the elections for Battle Creek City Commission, three city council members will be chosen in the City of Springfield as well. According to the County Clerk's website, there are some proposals on the ballot in certain municipalities as well; the Tekonsha Community Schools is proposing a 2 mills millage increase in order to pay for various improvements to school buildings, while the Hastings School System will be voting on two separate millages to accomplish similar goals.

If you live in the City of Battle Creek, click here to see the multiple candidate interviews we have conducted over the past few weeks, in order to familiarize yourself with those running for City Commission before you head to the polls.

If you’re not sure what will be on the ballot, or to check if your municipality is even holding elections, go to Michigan.gov/vote to see a sample ballot if one is available.

Voting is to be open between 7am and 8pm. Several precincts have been consolidated for this election as well; go to co.calhoun.mi.us to see if your polling location has changed.
