Just a few days after the Calhoun County Election Commission rejected proposed recall language for Albion’s Mayor Garrett Brown, new language has been submitted again.

The Calhoun County Clerk’s Office says that on Friday, Albion Resident Chad Baase submitted the new language, which cites Brown’s behavior towards City Manager Sheryl Mitchell, as well as evidence that a woman filed a Personal Protection Order against Brown for allegedly stalking her.

The recall petition will now go before the Election Commission at a meeting scheduled to take place November 20; The Battle Creek Enquirer reported a similar petition was turned down by the Commission on Tuesday for not being factual and clear. If the Commission approves the recall language, the petition will then be circulated among voters.

439 valid signatures are needed to put the recall on the ballot.
