Pedestrian Killed In Semi-Truck Crash Near Marshall Friday Night

A woman was killed late Friday night in Calhoun County after she was struck by a semi-truck.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that around 11:30pm Friday, Deputies were called to Westbound I-94 near the Marshall Rest Area on reports of a tractor trailer accident with a pedestrian.The Marshall Rest Area is located just to the east of the City of Marshall proper.

Deputies found a 25-year-old Jackson County woman, and she was transferred to the hospital; however, she ended up passing away due to her injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 24-year-old from Manchester, Michigan in Washtenaw County, wasn’t hurt.

Right now, investigators don’t think speed or alcohol use were factors in this accident.

The Calhoun County Accident Reconstruction Team continues to look into this crash.
