Suspect Sought In Violent Armed Robbery In Kalamazoo

Kalamazoo area police are looking for a suspect in a violent armed robbery Wednesday.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a woman was exiting her vehicle in the 1300 block of S Westnedge around 6:20pm, when a man came behind her and said he had a gun. The man then hit her in the head with a blunt object, and took some of her property before leaving on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, standing around 6 feet tall. He was clean shaven, and was seen wearing a "puffy coat" with a hood. The KDPS searched the area around the crime scene, but the suspect wasn't located.

Those with tips are asked to tell police or Silent Observer.
