The culprit of course is the COVID-19 virus. Or looking at it another way, Calhoun County Health Officer Eric Pessel is indirectly blaming people who are not yet vaccinated against the virus.
The Barry Eaton District Health Department is now confirming attachment-at least one case verified in Barry County. And since testing for this one is a bit different than what is typically done, the department says there are likely other cases in the area that just haven’t been pinpointed yet.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department reports there are now 240 deaths of county residents blames in part on the COVID-19 virus. The department is continuing to stage walk-in virus vaccination clinics this week.
Vaccination efforts have gone into overdrive this week with residents 16 years of age and older are now eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.
Experts are saying we could even throw our masks away by Memorial Day. Fingers crossed on that one...
