The City of Battle Creek is set to consider accepting a grant that would help the renovation of downtown’s Heritage Tower.

According to the Battle Creek City Commission’s agenda, the WK Kellogg Foundation is offering up a Technical Grant to help the City retain the services of two firms for “technical assistance” in the Heritage Tower project. Avivar Capital and Cabrera Capital Partners, LLC have already been working on the project, but they instead have been contracted with the WKKF; that contract is running out, and will be transferred to the city instead.

The $325,000 grant is in addition to a Program Related Investment Loan the city received from the WKKF for the project; that was approved in December.
