We get to meet a new friend every week on "Wiggly Tail Wednesday", when Jessica and Carrie bring a dog or cat from the Humane Society of South Central Michigan  to the 95.3 WBCK Studios.  Some are scared, some are crazy-hyper, and some (especially the cats) could care less about any of us radio people.  But this one, Joy, was so glad to see us and such a sweetie, that I can't see her being at the Shelter for long.   "Joy" is a perfect name for this 4-month old puppy.   She is a short-haired, black and white dog, with possible Boxer, Terrier, and maybe Border Collie markings.   She's definitely playful and smart!   If you'd like to find out more about adopting "Joy", click here.

By the way....it's getting hot.  Don't forget to take extra care of your pets:

  • Make sure they have plenty of fresh water.
  • Be sure they have a shady spot to get out of the direct sunlight if they're outside.
  • Don't even take a pet in the car in hot weather.  Leave them home where they'll be most comfortable.
  • Don't shave off their fur.  Just brush them as they shed.  Many breeds rely on fur for insulation from the heat as well as the cold.
