Do you remember when the former Speaker of the House Democrat California Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi famously stated:

The cupboard is bare. There’s no more cuts to make. It’s really important that people understand that

If not or you do not believe me check out this audio of her stating it on a CNN program in 2013:

Well apparently the cupboard must not be that bare, The Washington Free Beacon is reporting on an expenditure of our tax dollars that proves once again the cupboard it not bare, at least in our government view.

The National Institutes of Health has decided that it would be a good expenditure of taxpayer dollars to award approximately $400,000 tax dollars to study Transwomen in the country of Uganda.

Yes Uganda.

Leading researchers are quoted in their grant stating:

HIV/AIDS is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in Uganda, with an estimated 7.3 [percent] adults HIV Positive. [M]en who have sex with men (MSM) bear a particularly high disease burden, with 13.2 [percent] living with HIV. Despite this increased risk, there is a considerable dearth of scientific literature documenting the barriers and facilitators to behavior change in this vulnerable Population. We need to better understand the HIV risk and protective behaviors of MSM and other sexual minority men in Uganda, if we are to develop effective Prevention programming.  [T]he almost complete lack of research examining the HIV risk of sexual minority women and transgender people is also problematic.  [O]f the handful of studies that have been published on African transgender people, all but one included these women under the rubric of [men who have sex with men] MSM. Individuals who self-identify as women should not be classified in research as men.  The researchers added that the "lack of research including transgender men in Uganda is concerning.

How many of these highly questionable expenditures of taxpayer dollars do I need to point out to convince people that the cupboard is not bear?  We as a country are so far in debt we need to start scrutinizing every dollar that is spent.

Can we not set up a bipartisan commission of Congressmen and women who are elected by the people to give their stamp of approval on these scientific studies?

I am not saying that we should stop all scientific studies but we must start somewhere and stopping scientific studies that are not needed today to help us American people is a good start.

Or at least let us spend the money here in the United States.
