The search for the next president of Kellogg Community College here in Battle Creek is now getting underway.

KCC says on Wednesday that they have hired the Illinois-based executive research firm the Pauly Group to help the Board of Trustees as they look for their replacement for President Mark O’Connell; the Pauly Group will help the Board “recruit, advertise and screen candidates for the position of president in the coming months.”

Board Chair Steve Claywell says that they’ll be selecting their new president in late Fall 2019:

At the appropriate times, we will seek input from community members, employees, students and others as we recognize the importance of the Board's decision.

Mark O’Connell announced last month that he would retire effective December 31 of this year, after 29 years at KCC.

This is the first time Kellogg Community College has searched for a new president since 2015, and only the sixth time since KCC was created 63 years ago.
