It appears that illegal aliens will have a new “home” away from home, if plans on a new detention center continue to roll forward.

Geo Group Incorporated announced that it plans to reactivate its 1,800 bed North Lake Correctional Facility under a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

In a press release posted Thursday,  the Geo Group announced, “that it has entered into a new ten-year contract, inclusive of renewal option periods, with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for the reactivation of the existing company-owned, 1,800-bed North Lake Correctional Facility located in Baldwin, Michigan. The contract is expected to generate approximately $37 million in incremental annualized revenues for GEO.

The facility will be used to house non-citizens serving sentences for non-violent drug offenses or for re-entering the country after deportation.
