Calhoun County authorities are attempting to track down a man that managed to escape their grasp.

Calhoun County Sheriff's Deputies had attempted a traffic stop on a red Ford pickup around 11:30pm Thursday, on Avenue A near Sundown St. in Springfield. The driver stopped to let out a passenger, before beginning to flee.

The truck subsequently crashed near the Fairlane Apartments on Avenue A; the driver ran southward on foot, and managed to escape. The driver is described as a white male standing around 6 foot 2, wearing a blue Lion’s shirt and blue jeans.

The truck’s passenger was arrested on a resisting and obstructing charge, while the driver is still being sought; those with any information are asked to contact the Sheriff's Office, or call Silent Observer.
