Calhoun County August 8 Election Results

Election results for Calhoun County are now in after Tuesday’s primary.

Nothing major was on the ballot, but some still went to the polls; according to Election Magic, Burlington Township turned down by a large margin a bond proposal that would have borrowed $2.3 million dollars for road improvements and levied a millage increase.

TOTAL VOTES: 355 (25% turnout)

YES: 132

NO: 223

The Barry County Intermediate School District saw voters from Barry, Calhoun and Allegan Counties turning down a proposal that would have increased the millage by .7 mills for special education funding, according to the Barry County Clerk's Office.

TOTAL VOTES: 2370

YES: 1263

NO: 1467

In the Hastings Area School System, the district’s current operating millage was renewed.

TOTAL VOTES: 1776

YES: 942

NO: 834
