As many of you might have heard College Park, Maryland city council voted last week to allow illegal immigrants to vote in their city elections.  Apparently they did not know their own rules and we now find out that they cannot.

The Washington Examiner is reporting that the city council must have at least 6 votes in favor to change the city Charter.

The city released a statement which read:

For most Council actions, a simple majority of Council members present must vote in favor of an item for it to be adopted.  However, changes to the Charter have a different requirement. The City Charter was amended in June to require the affirmative vote of six elected officials to change the Charter.

It is interesting that the city did not remember the change they passed just a few months before this vote.

That shows you how intelligent these people are.  I would certainly not want to be lead by people like that.  It appears they care more about their agenda then either knowing their own power or simply not caring.
