Battle Creek residents will be able to earn college credits and gain manufacturing experience for free under a Kellogg Community College program.

KCC says that applicants are now being accepted for the four week Kellogg Advanced Manufacturing Assembly program, which begins January 29. The KAMA program teaches manufacturing skills, financial literacy, and helps build job finding skills.

As well, those in the training will receive help from career coaches, gain OSHA and WorkKeys Cerification, and 8.74 college credits. The training takes place at KCC's Regional Manufacturing Technology Center in the Fort Custer Industrial Park.

The program is a part of KCC's Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training initiative, which is designed to provide short training programs to help increase the employment outlook of participants.
