Meth Lab In Pennfield Busted By Deputies After Tip
An attempt to make drugs in Calhoun County failed after law enforcement gained knowledge of it.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says they received a tip that a methamphetamine lab was located at a residence in the 900 block of Capital Ave. NE in Pennfield Township. As a result of the tip, Sheriff's Deputies executed a search warrant to the residence around 3am Monday.
Inside, authorities say they found the meth lab, and discovered a 44-year-old man pouring liquids down the drain in the bathroom. They also discovered a large amount of meth waste in the residence. It's not known whether the drug lab was the "traditional" kind, or a "one-pot" lab that is becoming more common.
That 44-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested, on charges related to the attempted meth production, as well as for unrelated warrants.
A 41-year-old Battle Creek woman was also arrested for unrelated warrants.
Both suspects were lodged at the Calhoun County jail. Deputies are continuing to investigate this case.
